TLDR Anti-TNF therapy can cause a rare hair loss condition similar to alopecia areata.
Anti-tumour necrosis factor (TNF) agents, while beneficial for autoimmune conditions, can lead to a rare adverse reaction known as psoriasiform alopecia areata. This condition can manifest either acutely or after a delay of months to years. The case series discussed in the document focuses on identifying histopathological features that are crucial for diagnosing this reaction, distinguishing it from primary psoriatic alopecia, and guiding management to prevent unnecessary discontinuation of the therapy.
