The study conducted at the National Institute for Chemical Pharmaceutical R&D in Bucharest aimed to evaluate the antimicrobial activity of a newly synthesized fluoroquinolone against strains of Staphylococcus, Streptococcus, and Escherichia coli. This research was driven by the urgent need to develop new drugs to combat antimicrobial resistance, a significant public health threat. The study utilized in silico molecular docking tests, which previously showed promising results, and determined the minimum inhibitory concentration using the microdilution technique and agar disk diffusion method. The findings were compared with the EUCAST-recommended breakpoint values for antimicrobial activity.
