TLDR Many transgender men on testosterone therapy experience hair loss.
This systematic review and meta-analysis evaluated the prevalence of androgenetic alopecia (AAG) in transgender men undergoing testosterone therapy. By analyzing data from seven studies with a total of 1,624 patients, the study found that 92 patients developed AAG, resulting in a pooled prevalence of 12.54% (95% CI 2.87% to 41.02%; p<0.01; I2=96%). The findings indicate a significant occurrence of AAG in transgender men receiving hormone therapy, aligning with previous literature on the subject.
