TLDR Ovulation inhibitors effectively treat menstrual issues and improve fertility but can have side effects.
The study involved 213 patients treated over 390 cycles with ovulation inhibitors, primarily for therapeutic purposes. Anovlar was used by 32 patients for fertility control over 114 cycles with no contraceptive failures, though 2 discontinued due to side effects. Anovlar effectively treated dysmenorrhea, hypermenorrhea, polymenorrhea, and oligomenorrhea, with significant improvements reported. It also showed potential in treating sterility by improving corpus luteum function, with 3 conceptions and 10 improvements among 27 women. Test drugs with ethinyl estrendiol showed good results for hypermenorrhea but had frequent side effects. Orgametril effectively treated endometriosis, though some side effects like hair loss and acne were noted. The study highlights the need for an ovulation inhibitor with minimal failure rates and side effects, emphasizing the importance of ongoing medical monitoring.
