TLDR Ayurvedic treatment can effectively reduce symptoms of alopecia areata.
This case study explores the Ayurvedic treatment of Indralupta, or alopecia areata, using Pracchanna Karma followed by Tikta Patola Patra Swarasa Lepa. According to Sushruta Acharya, this condition is caused by vitiated pitta and vata leading to hair loss, while vitiated rakta and kapha block hair follicle orifices, hindering new hair growth. The study's results are promising, showing improvements in symptoms such as reduced patch size and decreased hair fall, suggesting that these Ayurvedic methods can effectively treat alopecia areata.
