TLDR The polyherbal hair gel with guava leaves, amla, and aloe is effective for scalp health and treating fungal infections.
This review discusses the effectiveness of a polyherbal hair gel formulation in treating dandruff and candidiasis, a common skin condition caused by the fungus Candida. The gel contains herbal extracts from guava leaves, amla, and aloe, which have been found to be beneficial for scalp health. Guava leaves are particularly noted for their high content of Vitamins B and C, which promote hair nourishment and growth, and exhibit antibacterial and antifungal properties. Amla, with its high Vitamin C content, helps prevent premature graying, adds luster, and strengthens hair follicles. The gel's efficacy against the fungus C. albicans and the bacteria S. aureus was evaluated using the Cup and plate method. The formulation, which includes Carbopol 934 and triethanolamine, was found to be effective in treating candidiasis, nourishing hair, and preventing premature graying.
