Eclipta alba (L.) Hassk, commonly known as Bhringaraja, is a small branched perennial herb traditionally used in Asian medicine, particularly in Ayurveda. This review highlights its diverse pharmacological activities, including hepatoprotective, hair growth promoting, antidiabetic, analgesic, anti-inflammatory, neuropharmacological, antioxidant, antimicrobial, cardiovascular, immunomodulatory, anti-epilepsy, anti-venom, anticancer, antiulcer, anthelmintic, and anti-hyperlipidemic properties. These effects are attributed to its major chemical compounds such as wedelolactone and dimethyl wedeloctone. Traditional Ayurvedic texts describe its therapeutic actions, including promoting hair growth and restoring natural hair color, as well as wound healing and pain relief.
