TLDR Hair transplants make people look more attractive, successful, approachable, and younger.
This study aimed to understand the societal perceptions of hair restoration surgery for androgenetic alopecia (AGA). The study included 122 participants who rated pre- and post-transplant images of 13 men with androgenetic alopecia. The results showed that hair transplant recipients were rated as more attractive, successful, and approachable following surgery, and also appeared younger. The study suggests that hair transplant is an effective treatment for androgenetic alopecia and can positively impact societal perceptions. However, the study design had limitations, and future studies should include more sophisticated randomization of pre- and post-transplant photographs.
