TLDR Students moving from elementary to middle school often feel anxious and unmotivated, needing psychological support to adapt better.
The study investigates the psychological readiness of students transitioning from elementary to basic general school, focusing on fourth-grade students at school No. 956 in Moscow. It reveals that while students exhibit significant cognitive development, many experience anxiety and low motivation. A negative correlation between anxiety and motivation suggests that emotional and volitional factors significantly impact the success of this transition. The study emphasizes the importance of an integrated educational approach, including psychological support, to facilitate students' adaptation to new learning environments. The findings can inform practical measures to address psychological barriers, anxiety, and motivation issues in students.
