TLDR Heavier birth weight may increase the risk of early hair graying in women.
The study investigated factors associated with self-reported hair graying in premenopausal infertile women, involving 63 participants. It found that women who reported hair graying were significantly heavier at birth compared to those who did not. Age and birth weight were identified as independent predictors of hair graying, with each 1 kg increase in birth weight increasing the odds of hair graying almost 4-fold. Although associations with diminished ovarian reserve, family history of fractures, and drug abuse were noted, they were not statistically significant. No link was found between mood or toxic habits and hair graying. The study concluded that the relationship between birth weight and hair graying warrants further investigation.
