TLDR Nutraceuticals can effectively manage hormonal imbalances and related health issues.
Contemporary high-stress lifestyles and poor eating habits have led to an increase in hormonal imbalances, particularly in women, causing various health issues such as allergies, anxiety, depression, diabetes, fatigue, facial hair growth, hair loss, PCOS, PMS, unhealthy skin, uterine fibroids, and water retention. Conventional treatments using synthetic hormones and vitamin supplements often have contraindications and cytopathic effects. As a result, nutraceuticals like cod liver oil, Echinacea, folic acid, ginseng, glucosamine, green tea, lutein, Omega-3s, and natural supplements rich in selenium, magnesium, potassium, and iodine are being used as alternative approaches to manage hormonal imbalances and their associated disorders. This chapter discusses the types of hormonal imbalances, related disorders, and the effectiveness of various nutraceuticals in treating these conditions.
