TLDR The new hair transplant technique is fast, effective, and satisfying for patients with different hair types.
The study "No-Shave Long Hair Follicular Unit Excision Using an All-Purpose Skin-Responsive Device" evaluated a new hair transplantation technique using a device called UGraft Zeus. The study involved 152 patients from five different countries. The results showed a graft transection rate (GTR) of 2.2% to 4.3%, a shaft breakage rate (SBR) of 12%, and a graft excision rate (GER) of 440 grafts per hour. The technique was efficient and less time-consuming than traditional methods. Out of 152 patients, 129 were evaluated with 57.4% reporting being "Very happy" and 42.6% reporting "Satisfactory" results. The technique was successful across different skin and hair types, including African-descended Black patients with curly-coiled hair. The study concluded that the new technique resulted in low GTR and SBR, high procedure speed, patient satisfaction, and surgeon adoption rate.

community HRT is literal black magic. Fin 1 mg/day @ 4 years, min 2x/day @ 3 years, Estradiol 4mg/day @ 3.5 months, and Spironolactone 100mg/day @ 3.5 months (estra & spiro are medicines you should likely not take if you are a cis man)

      community Verteporfin and Microneedling

      in Treatments 6 months ago
Clinical studies by Dr. Barghouthi and Dr. Bloxham indicate that Verteporfin, when used with FUE and FUT hair transplantation methods, shows promise in hair follicle regeneration and minimal scarring due to its ability to inhibit Yes-associated protein (YAP). Microneedling at depths of 3-3.5mm, combined with Verteporfin, could potentially reactivate dormant follicles, although the optimal dosage and application method are still under investigation. Concerns remain about the DHT sensitivity of regenerated follicles, highlighting the need for further research to optimize trauma levels and Verteporfin concentrations to achieve effective and scar-free hair regeneration.
