Nail Changes in Non-Infectious Skin Diseases: A Narrative Review

This narrative review examines nail changes in non-infectious skin diseases, highlighting their diagnostic significance and management. It discusses how conditions like lichen planus, atopic dermatitis, psoriasis, lupus erythematosus, systemic sclerosis, and dermatomyositis can cause specific nail alterations that aid in diagnosis. While treating the underlying skin condition often improves nail health, persistent abnormalities may require separate management. The review emphasizes the importance of recognizing these changes for accurate diagnosis and effective treatment, with a particular focus on nail changes due to psoriasis, providing detailed explanations and treatment strategies.
