TLDR AMF inoculation boosts tea plant growth and nutrient absorption.
The study demonstrated that arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi (AMF) inoculation significantly enhanced the growth, root morphology, and nutrient absorption of tea plants (Camellia sinensis cv. Fuding Dabaicha) over 12 weeks. AMF, particularly Claroideoglomus etunicatum, increased plant height, shoot and root biomass, and total leaf area. Root length and volume were notably higher, while root-hair length and number decreased but root-hair diameter increased. Leaf nutrient contents (N, P, K, Ca, Mg, Zn, and Mn) were significantly elevated in AMF-inoculated plants. The findings concluded that AMF inoculation, especially with C. etunicatum, positively influenced plant growth and nutrient levels.
