An Experimental Study: Microstructure of Hair Soft Tissue Filler Material and Its Clinical Application

    January 2008

TLDR Hair material is a promising, safe, and effective soft tissue filler.
The study investigated the use of hair microstructure as a soft tissue filler material. After processing, the injectable hair material was tested on micropigs, and its effects were observed over 24 weeks. The results showed that the hair structure was largely retained, and there were no adverse reactions. Over time, the hair keratin was replaced by fibroblasts and collagen, with no significant fibromembrane formation. The treated dermis was thicker than the control, indicating significant dermal augmentation (p<0.05). The study concluded that hair material demonstrated good biocompatibility and effective dermal filling, suggesting its potential as a new soft tissue filler.

PP405 is discussed as a potential hair growth stimulant, possibly more effective than minoxidil, but not a cure for hair loss. There is skepticism about its ability to regrow "deadzones," and concerns about its impact on those with hair transplants.

A user successfully regrew hair using 1mg finasteride, switching to 0.5mg dutasteride, and maintaining 5mg oral minoxidil, with significant improvements noted after switching to dutasteride. The user experienced shedding phases but ultimately achieved regrowth and is now comfortable without wearing a hat.
