TLDR Microneedling with minoxidil is more effective than microneedling with multivitamins for male hair loss.
The study conducted by Sunil Kumar, Rajesh G, and Srinivas K compared the efficacy of microneedling (MN) with minoxidil solution versus MN with hair multivitamin solution in treating male androgenetic alopecia. The study involved 50 subjects, divided into two groups of 25 each. Group I underwent MN with a dermaroller and minoxidil solution, while Group II underwent MN with a hair multivitamin solution. The treatment was done every 3 weeks for a total of nine sessions, and subjects were followed for 6 months. Results showed that 76% of Group I had an excellent response, while 40% of Group II had an excellent response. Side effects included pain (24%), bruising (16%), and folliculitis (8%). The study concluded that MN is a safe and cost-effective procedure that stimulates hair follicles and improves hair growth.
