A Method to Measure Oil Penetration into Hair and Correlation to Tensile Strength

TLDR Type 3 hair oil strengthens hair more than coconut oil.
The study developed a method to measure oil penetration into hair by assessing hair thickness and cohesive force, and explored its correlation to tensile strength. It compared Type 3 hair oil and coconut oil, finding that Type 3 hair oil led to a greater increase in hair thickness and a more significant reduction in cohesive force than coconut oil. Both oils improved tensile strength, but Type 3 hair oil had a more pronounced effect. The results suggest that measuring hair thickness and cohesive force can effectively indicate oil penetration, which positively influences hair strength.

Minoxidil with alcohol and propylene glycol was more effective than non-alcohol versions, and RU58841 worked best in a non-water-based solution. Oral finasteride showed better results than topical, despite side effects; microneedling and tretinoin worsened hair loss, and PRP was only helpful when younger.
