TLDR Mesotherapy and PRP are increasingly used for hair loss treatment but lack extensive research on their effectiveness.
Eight years ago, a presentation at the 5th International Conference on Clinical & Experimental Dermatology discussed the use of Mesotherapy and Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) procedures in treating hair loss. The presenter, Zahide Eris Ekoen, noted that hair loss, a common issue across all age groups and ethnicities, can be caused by genetic, environmental, pathological, and psychological factors. Mesotherapy and PRP, which involve injections directly into the skin every 2-4 weeks, were gaining importance in hair loss treatment at the time. However, Ekoen pointed out that there were only a few studies on the efficacy of these techniques in relation to hair loss therapy, despite their significant publicity in the media and on the internet.
