TLDR Lupus and frontal fibrosing alopecia may share a common cause.
The document reported a case highlighting the rare association between Frontal Fibrosing Alopecia (AFF) and lupus erythematosus. Lupus is a chronic disease that can cause various types of alopecia, including telogen effluvium and scarring alopecia from discoid lesions. AFF, a form of cicatricial alopecia, typically affects postmenopausal women and can cause tiny papules in the frontotemporal region. The coexistence of AFF and lupus in the patient suggested a potential common pathogenic background between the two conditions.
