TLDR Hair analysis can reveal glucose levels in diabetic patients.
The study examined the potential of using hair analysis as a non-invasive diagnostic tool for diabetes by assessing glucose content in the hair core. Researchers observed bright colored patches in the hair of 25 diabetic patients under cross polarized light, indicating glucose deposition. These patches were absent in controlled cases without chemical or heat treatment. The findings suggested that hair could preserve proteins and glucose history, offering insights into a patient's glucose metabolism over time.
