Application of Low-Dose Oral Minoxidil in the Treatment of Androgenetic Alopecia

    Topical minoxidil has been used for treating androgenetic alopecia (AGA) for a long time, but issues like unsatisfactory efficacy or poor tolerance remain. Although oral minoxidil is primarily a second- or third-line treatment for hypertension, increasing evidence supports its off-label use in low doses for AGA treatment. This review discusses the potential mechanisms and clinical applications of low-dose oral minoxidil for AGA.
