Lansium domesticum, commonly known as langsat or duku, was a tropical fruit recognized for its traditional medicinal uses and rich phytochemical profile. It exhibited various bioactivities, including antimalarial, antioxidant, antibacterial, and wound healing properties, largely due to its terpenoids and phenolics. The fruit and its parts, such as seeds and bark, showed effectiveness against chloroquine-resistant Plasmodium falciparum and had potential as natural pest control agents. Additionally, the fruit demonstrated potential in cosmetic applications for anti-aging and skin care, and its compounds showed promise in managing type-II diabetes and androgenic alopecia. Despite its benefits, the peel contained toxic constituents like lansium acid. The study highlighted the need for further research on its bioactive compounds and potential applications in medicine and agriculture.
