Knowledge, Attitude, and Practice Regarding COVID-19 Skin Manifestations Among Doctors Working at Khartoum Dermatology and Venereology Teaching Hospital, 2021

    TLDR Many doctors lack knowledge about COVID-19 skin symptoms and need better education and guidelines.
    The study evaluated the knowledge and practices regarding COVID-19 skin manifestations among 140 doctors at Khartoum Dermatology and Venereology Teaching Hospital. It found that 75.7% of doctors were aware that COVID-19 can present with skin manifestations, but half had poor knowledge, and 25% had no knowledge at all. Only 25% had good knowledge. Additionally, 46.4% of doctors would isolate patients with COVID-19 skin lesions, while 43.6% were unaware of any protocol for suspected cases. Significant associations were found between job category, year of rotation, and knowledge level. The study recommends educating doctors and establishing clear guidelines for diagnosis and management.
