    The use of minoxidil in rats was found to affect fluid dynamics, particularly in regulating interstitial pressure and potentially impacting circulation. Minoxidil treatment resulted in changes in sodium retention and reduced renal response to volume expansion. It also caused a temporary increase in interstitial fluid pressure that could lead to edema accumulation. Minoxidil improved blood flow and hair growth in rats by increasing capillary permeability and interstitial fluid pressure. However, the exact mechanism is not fully understood and more research is needed.
