TLDR Hair loss in women often starts in their late 20s and peaks after 50, and it's different from male hair loss.
The study aimed to determine the incidence of female androgenetic alopecia in Caucasian women aged 20 and older. A total of 1006 women were examined, and the study concluded that female androgenetic alopecia is quite common, with its onset typically occurring in the late 20s and reaching its peak after the age of 50. The study suggests that female androgenetic alopecia may not be androgen dependent and is a distinct condition from male androgenetic alopecia.
