TLDR A special diet improved skin issues in dogs with food allergies.
This study investigated the effects of a protein hydrolysate-based dry food diet on 20 dogs with chronic skin and coat issues, including itching, alopecia, and pyoderma. Over 12 weeks, the dogs were placed on a strict elimination diet without medications or supplements. Comprehensive evaluations, including blood tests, ultrasonography, and dermatological exams, were conducted before, during, and after the diet. The study aimed to assess the diet's impact on the dogs' skin health and overall well-being, with data collected on their medical history, food intake, activity, and weight.
