TLDR Understanding patients' views on their illness can help improve their disease management.
The study investigated the use of the Revised Illness Perception Questionnaire (IPQ-R) in 92 patients with primary cutaneous T-cell lymphomas (CTCL) and cutaneous B-cell lymphomas (CBCL). It found that illness perception had a significant impact on health-related quality of life (HRQOL) but did not clearly affect illness behavior. The IPQ-R results, along with HRQOL, were linked to disease type, stage, and socio-demographic factors. The study suggested that the IPQ-R could offer valuable insights into patients' needs, aiding in the development of personal coping strategies and potentially improving individual disease management for CTCL and CBCL patients.
