TLDR Understanding patients' views on their illness can help improve their disease management.
The study demonstrated that the Revised Illness Perception Questionnaire (IPQ-R) effectively assessed illness perception in patients with primary cutaneous T-cell lymphomas (CTCL) and cutaneous B-cell lymphomas (CBCL). Among 92 patients, illness perception was found to significantly correlate with health-related quality of life (HRQOL), but not with illness behavior. The IPQ-R and HRQOL results were linked to disease type, stage, and socio-demographic factors. Importantly, the IPQ-R provided valuable insights into patients' needs for developing personal coping strategies, suggesting its potential utility in enhancing individual disease management for CTCL and CBCL patients.
