TLDR Regular blood pressure checks and lifestyle changes are crucial for managing hypertension in children and teens.
Hypertension in children and adolescents was often underdiagnosed, necessitating blood pressure assessments at every medical encounter for children aged 3 years and older, as well as high-risk children younger than 3 years. Pharmacologic therapy was found to be safe and effective in controlling blood pressure and preventing end-organ damage in this population. The article emphasized the importance of routine monitoring and early intervention to manage hypertension effectively in young patients.
