It highlighted the challenges in finding successful treatments due to the lack of a gold-standard method and limited research. The review focused on the roles of hormones in the pathogenesis of HS and evaluated the use of hormonal therapies such as finasteride, dutasteride, spironolactone, and oral contraceptives. The outcomes of these hormonal treatments in various clinical studies were summarized, indicating their potential effectiveness in managing HS.
