TLDR Tianzhu white yak hair varies in structure and density between fuzz and coarse hair.
The study examined the histological and ultrastructural characteristics of Tianzhu white yak hair using optical and scanning electron microscopy. It found that heterotypical and fuzz hair from different body parts were similar in structure, while coarse hair fibers showed variations, especially in the medullated fibers. The scale layer structure and density varied among different fiber types, with significant differences (P<0.01) between fuzz and coarse hair. Additionally, there were notable differences (P<0.05) in the scale height and thickness between fuzz and coarse hair.
