    Pamhidzai Dzomba
The study formulated a herbal shampoo using flavonoid glycosides from Dicerocaryum senecioides to treat Trichophyton tonsurans infections, a common scalp issue in children. The shampoo's efficacy was tested on 10 volunteers, with 7 receiving the active shampoo and 3 a placebo. The active shampoo showed a 93.2% inhibition of mycelial growth in lab tests and successfully healed all 7 participants, while the placebo group saw no improvement until they switched to the active shampoo. The shampoo maintained consistent quality characteristics, such as pH, color, and viscosity, and showed no microbial contamination. The study concluded that the herbal shampoo is an effective alternative treatment for T. tonsurans infections.
