Clinical And Pathological Evaluation Of Hemp Seed Oil Effectiveness In The Treatment Of Alopecia Areata

This clinical trial evaluated the efficacy of hemp seed oil in treating 20 patients with localized alopecia areata over 2 months. The treatment involved nightly application of hemp oil, with assessments at 0, 4, and 8 weeks. Results showed marked improvement in 25% of patients, moderate improvement in 40%, mild improvement in 10%, and no response in 25%. Significant improvement was noted between 4 and 8 weeks (P < 0.05). The study concludes that hemp seed oil is a promising treatment for localized alopecia areata, recommending further trials to optimize dosage and treatment duration.
