TLDR Zinc, copper, and vitamin A deficiencies cause skin disorders in sheep.
This study investigated the impact of zinc, copper, and vitamin A deficiencies on 100 sheep, with 80 sheep showing deficiencies and 20 serving as a control group. The deficient sheep exhibited clinical signs such as depression, pica, pale mucous membranes, hair loss, and alopecia, among others. Significant decreases were observed in hematological parameters (Hb, PCV, RBCs, WBCs), glucose, total protein, and antioxidant enzyme levels (GSH-Px, CAT, SOD). The findings suggest that these nutritional deficiencies contribute to skin disorders in sheep, highlighting the importance of dietary supplementation to prevent such adverse effects.
