TLDR Radiographers in private hospitals face many health issues due to heavy workloads and long hours.
The study examined health problems among 60 radiographers in private multi-speciality hospitals in Tirunelveli City, Tamil Nadu. It found that tiredness, low energy, body pain, sleep difficulties, depression, emotional disturbances, and digestive disorders were the primary health issues. Other significant problems included skin and eye issues, urinary tract infections, diabetes, hypertension, irregular menstruations, weight, and hair loss. The study highlighted that heavy workload, long hours, inadequate rest, and lack of support were major stressors. Recommendations included implementing government-prescribed working hours, improving leadership skills, providing ergonomic training, and enhancing welfare facilities. The study's limitations include its focus on a small sample size and specific hospital types, suggesting the need for broader future research.
