The cohort study evaluated the use of preoperative hair removal in transgender individuals assigned male at birth who were enrolled in Oregon’s Medicaid program. It focused on the practices and experiences of both the patients and their clinicians regarding hair removal prior to feminizing surgeries. The study aimed to understand the prevalence and methods of hair removal used, as well as any barriers faced by patients in accessing these services. The findings highlighted the importance of hair removal in the surgical process and the need for improved access and support for transgender individuals undergoing these procedures.
