Hair Regeneration Using Microneedle-Assisted Human Basic Fibroblast Growth Factor

    TLDR Microneedle-assisted therapy with human basic fibroblast growth factor significantly regrew hair in patients with hair loss.
    The study involved 12 patients with non-scarring alopecia who underwent microneedle-assisted human basic fibroblast growth factor (hbFGF) therapy. The treatment resulted in significant hair regeneration, with the alopecia area declining by 79.2% among all androgenetic alopecia patients. Hair loss was also mitigated in patients with telogen effluvium and alopecia areata. The therapy was more effective in male patients and no adverse effects were reported. Despite the positive results, the study acknowledged limitations such as a small sample size and the need for further research on the treatment's effect on scarring alopecia and long-term effects after discontinuing the treatment.
