TLDR The natural hair oil made from fenugreek seeds and aloe vera showed good hair growth, minimal side effects, and effective anti-dandruff and anti-fungal properties.
The research conducted by Dr. D. Y. Patil Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences and Research and Shri Vithal Education and Research Institute's College of Pharmacy formulated a pure herbal hair oil using dried fenugreek seed (Trigonella foenum-graecum) propagated in Aloe vera leaf (Aloe barbadensis). The fenugreek seeds were sprouted within the aloe vera leaf, dried for 24 hours, and then boiled with coconut oil. The resulting hair oil was evaluated for pH, specific gravity, viscosity, irritation and sensitivity, acid value, saponification value, and anti-dandruff and anti-fungal properties. The oil showed good hair growth results, minimal side effects, and satisfactory anti-microbial and anti-fungal activity. The evaluation values were within acceptable limits, and the oil demonstrated superior efficacy in promoting robust hair growth, offering effective dandruff protection, and imparting a glossy and lustrous appearance, surpassing the effects of the marketed formulation.
