Forehead Lift

TLDR No single forehead lift procedure suits all; techniques vary based on hairline and desired outcomes.
Patients seeking forehead rejuvenation presented with various issues, and no single forehead lift procedure suited all. Techniques using a coronal incision offered advantages over closed procedures, resulting in inconspicuous scars and minimal complications when performed skillfully. This method was preferred for patients with low hairlines desiring elevation. However, many patients with high hairlines worried that surgery would worsen their appearance. Both coronal and closed endoscopic techniques elevated the hairline, which could appear unnatural and masculine. Incisions along the hairline allowed for maintaining or lowering the hairline. It was found that an endoscope was unnecessary for forehead mobilization and corrugator muscle modification if the anatomy was well understood, the operation well-planned, and a transpalpebral approach used. Transpalpebral corrugator myoplasty enabled closed foreheadplasty without an endoscope and minimized or avoided medial brow elevation.
