    TLDR Females with alopecia areata have more fingerprint arches.
    The study determined the incidences of fingerprint arches in 91 female and 87 male patients with alopecia areata compared to 109 female and 74 male controls. It found a statistically significant increased frequency of individuals with six or more arches among the females with alopecia areata.
