TLDR Low dose finasteride doesn't change lipid profile or metabolic parameters in mice.
The study aimed to investigate whether dietary supplementation with a low dose of finasteride affects the lipid profile in atheroprone Ldlr-deficient mice fed a Western diet. The results showed that 12-week supplementation with a low dose of finasteride did not have a significant impact on food intake, body weight, or adiposity index. There was no significant change in plasma lipids or glucose tolerance. Therefore, the study concludes that finasteride does not have detrimental effects on these metabolic parameters.
