TLDR Finasteride can cause muscle pain and high creatine kinase levels, but stopping the medication may resolve symptoms.
This document reports a case of a man who experienced muscle pain and elevated creatine kinase levels after taking finasteride for 10 years to treat frontal baldness. The symptoms resolved after discontinuing the medication. The authors suggest that reversible myalgia associated with significant hyperCKemia is a possible adverse reaction of finasteride therapy.
