TLDR Female pattern hair loss does not significantly affect sexual dysfunction.
The study assessed female sexual dysfunction (FSD) in 47 premenopausal Egyptian women with female pattern hair loss (FPHL) compared to 43 controls. It found no significant difference in FSD prevalence between the FPHL group (44.7%) and the control group (44.2%). Age and parity were positively correlated with FSD prevalence, but the severity of FPHL and androgen hormone levels were not. The study recommended larger-scale research and specialized female sexual health clinics to address FSD, particularly in Islamic and Arab countries.
