TLDR Starting a company for quinoa-based hair care products is feasible and may become profitable after 18 months.
Five years ago, a feasibility study was conducted for the establishment of Bio Natural, a company aimed at producing and marketing hair care products derived from quinoa. The products were targeted at women aged 20 to 40 in Bogotá suffering from hair issues such as hair loss, female androgenetic alopecia, and hair weakening. The products, including shampoo and conditioner, were designed to nourish hair follicles, promote growth, and reduce hair breakage. The company planned to primarily use E-commerce for sales, with the main income source being the sale of these quinoa-based products. The company required an investment of $122,562,646 COP, with 60% from entrepreneurs and 40% from external financing. It was projected to reach the break-even point in its 18th month of operation.
