TLDR Familial sexual precocity in girls may be more common than previously thought.
A review of 58 girls diagnosed with isosexual precocious puberty at an endocrine clinic over six years revealed that 3 girls (5.2%) had family histories of sexual precocity, suggesting a potential familial link. One detailed case involved a girl who began breast development at 6 years and pubic hair development at 7½ years, with advanced bone and height age, and hormone levels indicating early puberty. This study provided anecdotal evidence that familial isosexual precocity in females might be more common than previously thought.
