TLDR Eruptive vellus hair cysts can run in families.
A 15-year-old white male exhibited an extensive skin eruption since age 2, characterized by flesh-colored, rough-textured papules with faint erythema, distributed over the upper trunk, arms, thighs, face, ears, and neck. Examination of his immediate family revealed that his brother and father had similar lesions. A biopsy of the papules identified middermal epithelial cysts containing numerous vellus hairs, indicating a familial occurrence of eruptive vellus hair cysts.
