TLDR Fahr syndrome causes brain calcification and is managed by treating symptoms and underlying issues.
Sindrom Fahr is characterized by abnormal, symmetrical, and bilateral calcification in various brain regions, including the basal ganglia and thalamus, and can affect young to middle-aged adults. It may result from endocrine disorders, infections, or autoimmune diseases, with diverse clinical symptoms. Diagnosis relies on specific criteria and imaging techniques like CT scans. Currently, there is no specific treatment, so therapy focuses on managing symptoms and underlying conditions.
