TLDR FUE is a popular hair restoration method that uses body hair and leaves no scars.
Follicular unit extraction (FUE) was becoming a popular method for hair restoration due to its advantage of leaving no linear scars, making it suitable for harvesting hair from various body areas such as the beard, chest, and extremities in hirsute individuals. Although body hair characteristics might not completely match scalp hair, body hair transplantation could be effectively used alone or with scalp hair in advanced baldness, to improve hairlines, and in cases of scarring alopecia with limited donor scalp hair. This technique required more time and skill but provided a new donor source for hair restoration, particularly in advanced androgenetic alopecia cases.
