The study titled "Evaluation of the efficacy of a food supplement on subjects with acute telogen effluvium" is a double-blind, multicentric, randomized, placebo-controlled trial designed to assess the safety and efficacy of a food supplement containing hydrolyzed keratin (KerPep®) in reducing hair shedding, improving hair radiance, and increasing hair growth rate in subjects with acute telogen effluvium. The study involves 66 healthy volunteers aged 18 to 60, with a balanced gender distribution, and is conducted over a 3-month period with intermediate assessments. Participants are randomly assigned to receive either the active supplement or a placebo, with outcomes measured using TrichoScan® for hair shedding, pull tests for telogen diagnosis, and self-assessment questionnaires for skin and nail effects. The study is ongoing, with completion expected by March 6, 2026.
