TLDR Finasteride for hair loss has minimal impact on sexual function.
This study evaluated variations in sexual and erectile functions in subjects taking 1 mg of finasteride for androgenetic alopecia by administering the International Index of Erectile Function (IIEF-5) questionnaire before and after 4 to 6 months of treatment. Results showed that no changes were statistically significant, suggesting that sexual side effects are much less common than previously reported in clinical trials, and that the sexual function of all patients remained stable during treatment with 1 mg of finasteride.
