TLDR Essential oils may help hair growth, but more research is needed.
The integrative review on essential oils (EOs) for managing androgenetic alopecia (AGA) identified several EOs, including those from Artemisia argyi, Angelica sinensis, and Rosmarinus officinalis, that have shown potential in stimulating hair growth through mechanisms like increasing microcirculation, reducing inflammation, and enhancing growth factor expression. Despite these promising findings, the review highlights a significant lack of robust and well-conducted clinical trials specifically addressing AGA, indicating a need for further research to effectively evaluate these natural treatment options.
